Administration
Experience

EDUA 590: I compared the school’s vision of teaching and learning with the LAUSD’s vision and goals and noted points of alignment and non-alignment. I prepared an example of proposed revisions to reflect improved alignment. This was shared and discussed with my Site Supervisor.

EDUA 591: Focused on one essential, evidence-based teaching strategy (Think-Write-Pair-Share) and facilitated one grade-level implementation of the target strategy for two weeks. After the two-week window, I shared the strategy with all 3rd- 5th-grade teachers, educated teachers on the strategy and best practices, secured implementation commitment, and reviewed implementation feedback and results.

EDUA 590: Following a pre-observation meeting with a volunteer teacher, I conducted a CSTP-focused classroom observation.  During the observation, I used an observation tool to collect evidence related to two CSTP element(s) agreed upon during the pre-observation meeting with the volunteer teacher, including student work (process, product, performance) that resulted from the lesson.

EDUA 591: Created an agenda for a Community of Practice planning meeting. Conducted and co-facilitated the meeting with group members’ active involvement to review and analyze data, including student demographics, student learning and academic performance or well-being, and other relevant student information related to the selected area of educational focus. Worked collaboratively with the group, using the data to determine a problem of practice related to student learning and/or well-being.

EDUA 590: I identified an actual situation in my school environment to be addressed and interviewed eight individual stakeholders, including parents, students, and staff members, regarding the perception of a culturally sensitive environment. My written action plan includes a possible solution for change that addresses the problem identified through the data collection process. This action plan reflects 21st-century thinking, presents research-based strategies, and is supported by scholarly references.

EDUA 591:  Participated in Local School Leadership Committee meeting which was open to all stakeholders. This meeting addressed upcoming budget needs and sought input from community members on prioritizing budget items.

EDUA 590: For this assignment, I reflected on what I have learned about equity-driven leadership throughout Leadership Cycle 1. I completed a written narrative focusing on my leadership capacity with a focus on analyzing data to propose school improvement strategies related to chronic absenteeism among students with disabilities.

EDUA 591: Brainstormed with my Site Supervisor and school coordinator about activities, classes, administrative opportunities, etc., that would enhance our capacity to meet the needs of all the students in our school.

EDUA 590: I discussed with my Site Supervisor available resources that provide guidelines and information about all legal parameters for administrative decision-making. We discussed necessary lines of communication when support is needed in making a difficult decision. It is essential to know who is our next line of support if the school principal is unavailable.

EDUA 591: As an administrative candidate, I researched and analyzed the differences between LCFF-funded districts and basic aid districts, providing a comprehensive comparison and contrast. This information is crucial for understanding the complexities of funding and policy in education.
